Keeping your body in good working order is vital to help you to be your best as a rider. As riders, we often forget to look after our own bodies and focus all our attentions on making sure our horses are in peak physical fitness. We put our bodies through a physical activity that demands a high level of strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. In order to be able to continue performing at your very best it is essential that your body can keep up with the physical demands of being a rider.

All of our physiotherapy is provided by Holly Doyle Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy, HCPC, ACPSM, MCSP.
Holly works closely with both horse and rider to ensure both are performing to their optimum level.
Sports Massage Therapy
The prime purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. Above all, it can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement.
Alessandra has many years’ experience as a sports massage therapist, she has worked for professional rugby teams such as Newcastle Falcons and Weston Force. As a dressage rider herself, she is able to help identify and alleviate specific problems associated with this sport such as tight hip flexors and back pain. Sports massage will enable you to perform at the very best of your ability.
Pilates
Our Physiotherapist Holly is also a specialist Pilates for Horse Riders instructor. Pilates is a fantastic way of building core strength and fitness and focusses on all the muscles that are vital for riding.
Personal Training
Alessandra is able to offer specialist personal training sessions specifically designed to help riders improve, strength, balance, fitness, coordination and flexibility.
Alessandra works with clients, in the gym, at home and even at the yard.
Working with riders on and off the ground is a vital part of the position perfect system.
To improve as a rider, it is essential that we work on our weaknesses on the ground as well as on the horse.
Alessandra uses the knowledge she gained whilst studying sports science at university, combined with her extensive knowledge as a dressage rider and trainer, to create training sessions that are specifically designed to help riders target key muscle groups and fitness areas needed to achieve maximum results on the horse.

Position Perfect is also able to offer intensive courses, which include livery and training as well as access to all our rehabilitation services. A detailed individual package will be produced to ensure you receive the exact services most beneficial to you and your horse.
